Hands up who likes jumpsuits?
Ok if you didn’t put your hand up because jumpsuits are the Devil’s work and never fit you…. Think again!!!
Enter: The Jumpsuit Weekender, with resident fit-spert Fina Makes.
Over the course of the weekend, you’ll choose a jumpsuit pattern from the ones in store (Paper Theory Zadie, Closet Core Blanca or True Bias Rory/Nova/Shelby) and Serefina will guide you through the process of how to make it fit you like a boss.
You’ll cover:
- How to measure yourself and the pattern to work out alterations before cutting into your gorgeous fabric.
- How to adapt the pattern to fit your body shape and proportions
- You’ll have the chance to adapt the pattern to add any style features that you would like to (cheeky lil collar, extra pockets, fly front – the world is your jumpsuit-shaped oyster!)
- Then you’ll make a toile to check that everything’s dandy.
If you have your own copy of your chosen pattern, feel free to bring it with you, otherwise they will be available to purchase on the day.
If your size is not included in the pattern that you want to make, then Serefina will help you grade it. No one will be left behind!
All equipment, paper and calico is provided. If you have your own pattern making tools, and prefer to use them, then feel free to bring them along, otherwise, you’re all set!
This a two day course and will run both days from 10:30am until 5:00pm (water, tea and coffee will be provided, please bring your own lunch).
We understand that this course is a big financial investment, so if you would like to set up a payment plan, please contact us on info@likesewamazing.com and we can set one up for you.
Specialising in fit, over the last 20 years Serefina has honed multiple skills in the fields of fashion & costume – working as a tailor and pattern cutter for luxury fashion and simultaneously as a corset maker and costume designer for cabaret, burlesque and drag.
For the past 8 years she has been passionately teaching her knowledge in pattern making and fit- both to individuals and to companies such as Harrods, Asos and Monsoon as well as start ups and small businesses.
In 2018 she was the pattern designer for Tilly and the Buttons and it was here that her love of sewing merged with digital and since then the self proclaimed ‘analogue girl’ has gone on to create Fina Makes; an online pattern cutting tutorial brand.
